The Easter weather is set to be dry and bright with above average temperatures, prompting even more motorists to jump in the car and take to the roads this bank holiday weekend
Three quarters of drivers will be clocking up over 50 miles visiting friends and family, with most planning to indulge in a proper bit of R&R in with their long weekend lasting as many as six nights.
The countryside and coast are the top destinations for Brits looking to leave man-made attractions behind for ‘a refreshing change of scenery’.

Almost one in ten will venture further afield and leave the UK this weekend, with a third of those making longer journeys doing so to visit family and friends abroad. Another 28 per cent will go overseas in the hunt for a better climate and are keen on returning to work with a bit of a tan.
However a quarter of drivers won’t bother to do any basic maintenance checks before they rev up their engines, despite the fact that 60 per cent of them are planning on doing over 70 miles in their trusty steed.

Congested roads and long delays are the top turn-offs for those contemplating a bit of a break this Easter, but surely sitting on the hard shoulder for hours waiting for assistance when your car breaks down is a much less appealing thought?
