Cash back cards come up trumps

Hundreds of thousands of credit card customers are reeling from a bumper £7 million January payout thanks to the Alliance & Leicester MoneyBack scheme
In what the head of Alliance & Leicester’s current accounts, Helen Palmer, calls “a great way to reward our loyal customers,” the bank’s Premier and Premier Direct Current Account customers can earn money back every time their spend.
The exclusive MoneyBack credit card deal offers 0.5 per cent on all purchases up to an annual limit of £15,000, along with an extra 10 per cent bonus on any MoneyBack the customer earns in the first year as long as the card is used within 60 days of opening.
In addition to this, the bank also offers double and even quadruple MoneyBack earnings if the cardholder spends with their partners: Thistle Hotels, JJB Sports, Hertz and Green Flag.
Currently new customers can also take advantage of a 0 per cent rate on all balance transfers made within the first 9 months.
