Experts have said that the introduction of free financial advice for people across the UK will be hugely beneficial for all who choose to take up the offer
The comments come as the government announces plans to implement a free service to consumers which will give everyone advice on the best way to save and spend their cash.
Economic secretary to the Treasury Ed Balls said the new scheme will be put into place in time for the introduction of the government's low-cost pension scheme in 2012.
National money education charity Credit Action said today that the move was a positive one for UK consumers and hoped that both the wealthy and poorer members of society will benefit from it.
Chris Tapp, associate director of Credit Action, said: "I don't think there is a simple demographic of people who will benefit most - there is a lack of financial information across the board in the UK.
"However the most obvious beneficiaries will be those who are currently unable to access the services of an IFA for example because the price of such a service is prohibitive."
He added that he hoped that any new service would be available to all and would be of benefit to rich and poor alike.
