With less than twenty five shopping days left till Christmas, households around the UK are collectively gearing up to spend a whopping £10 Billion on presents this year.
After the inevitable mad scramble to the shops, most people will feel relieved that the worst of their Christmas ordeal is over.
However, research by comparethemarket.com reveals that up to 85 per cent of British households are inadequately insured during this time.
Mark Vile, spokesperson for insurance price comparison site comparethemarket.com, said: “During the run up to Christmas, people tend not to realise the amount they spend on presents often exceeds their contents insurance. With an increase in burglaries at this time, it is advisable that people take care to insure their families’ presents so there are only tears of joy this Christmas.”
To ensure that all of Santa’s efforts aren’t in vain this Christmas, comparethemarket.com is encouraging Brits to check their home insurance polices and make sure their presents are adequately covered.
