People who do not inform their bank when they move may be putting themselves at risk of identity theft, it has been claimed
According to Peter Beckett, business development director for Iammoving.com, anyone who does not inform financial institutions of their new whereabouts is presenting criminals with a golden chance to obtain information.

He said: "Empty properties receiving mail because of out-of-date address information offer a perfect opportunity for fraudsters to pick up [details] and then run with it."
Mr Beckett added that because of the time consuming nature of switching a lot of addresses, it can be something that people put off doing.
Iammoving.com is a free online service which allows people who have moved to notify some organisations of their new address via the internet.
According to the website, a change of address can take a total of 20 phone calls and letters with the whole process taking up to five hours of work.
